Carmichael Lynch Wins Two Clio Sports Awards for X Games Takeover
Carmichael Lynch has won two 2018 Clio Sports Awards in Design and Out of Home for its work on the Jack Link’s X Games Station Domination.
When the X Games came to Minneapolis in 2017, Jack Link’s and Carmichael Lynch created an immersive out-of-home experience by taking over six light rail stations leading to the stadium where the games were hosted. We spread posters, collages, and animations that mixed core brand DNA predominantly featuring Jack Link’s mascot, mythical woodland man-beast Sasquatch, with the raw energy of skate culture. We flooded Jack Link’s social channels with videos, GIFs and more, and created custom skateboards, sneakers, pins, hats and other enviable swag. The work was a bold departure for the brand, and the result was a high energy remix of the woodland weirdness of Jack Link’s and the raw energy of skate culture.
The Clio Sports Awards recognize the best in sports advertising and marketing. The winning entries are chosen by a veritable who’s who of the sports business — marketing executives, commissioners, broadcasters and athletes alike. The winners are chosen from an international pool of submissions and represent the breakthrough communications that elevated sports culture in the collective consciousness.
Carmichael Lynch and Jack Link’s also won a 2017 Clio Sports Award for the ESPN: The Body Issue integration.
